Applying Airbrush Makeup for the First Time
Airbrush makeup is an innovative evolution in the art of applying makeup. Simply stated, special foundation that is designed to be airbrushed, or sprayed on, is mixed with water, then sprayed in a very fine mist on the face. The amazing thing about airbrush makeup kits is that, as any person who has experience spray painting will tell you, airbrush produces a very even, natural looking finish with almost no effort. Another advantage is that while the coverage itself is denser, you are actually wearing less makeup on your face, making you look more natural, and allowing your pores to breathe a little bit more. You will be less likely to get clogged pores and acne outbreaks wearing airbrushed makeup.
Because airbrushing makeup on is more like painting than applying makeup, it can be used to provide much better coverage of facial imperfections, like freckles, birthmarks, redness, acne, and under-eye darkness than even the thickest, manually applied foundation can. It also is so opaque that you won’t need additional concealer, powder, or anything else to “set” the foundation – your skin is good to go once you’ve applied a single layer of airbrush foundation.
Much like a professional airbrush makeup artist, all you need to get incredible yet natural-looking coverage every day is a specialized compressor that will supply the foundation “mist”, an airbrush wand for actually applying the makeup, and the special foundation. The compressor itself can cost as much as several hundred dollars, but it should last for many years, and typically the more expensive versions will produce makeup results identical to the perfect faces you see in Hollywood, so you truly are paying for quality results.
When applying the makeup, hold the airbrush pen a little less than a foot from your face, close your eyes, and move the wand in gentle circles slowly all around your face. Don’t rush the process, but don’t hold the wand still either, or you’ll have visible foundation buildup in that one area. After waiting a couple of minutes after you finish, examine your skin and see if you want another layer, which should be the maximum you will need. It will take a few tries to get the application process perfect, but you should be able to go out wearing your very first airbrush foundation, because the process is truly that simple. Just move the wand slowly and deliberately, and you’ll get lovely, even coverage on your face.

how do you not get it all over the places you do not want it–eyebrows, etc.?
